Meissl & Schaden is located at the Grand Ferdinand hotel and impresses with its semi-outdoor show kitchen. You can watch the chefs preparing the perfect Schnitzel. The hotel restaurant on the Wiener Ringstrasse in the first district of Vienna portrays a really nice and upscale atmosphere. Prices are on the upper end but the quality and ambience more than make up for it. Reservation is required. Tip: You can customize your Schnitzel with different toppings such as anchovies – not the most authentic Viennese way but individual and creative.

Figlmüller Wollzeile
Figlmüller is known as the "Home of the Schnitzel" and an absolute must for tourists and locals alike. Since 1905 Figlmüller at Wollzeile in the city center of Vienna, serves its guests highlights of Viennese way of life, as well as an exceptional Wiener Schnitzel made from veal or pork.
Figlmüller Bäckerstrasse
"The Home of the Wiener Schnitzel" opened a second restaurant just around the corner from Figlmüller Wollzeile in 2001. You do get the most authentic service and food at either of the two Figlmüller restaurants. Prices are on the upper side but considering the restaurant's reputation, it's location in the city center of Vienna and most of all the quality of food and service, prices are absolutely fair. The original Wiener Schnitzel made of veal costs EUR 20,90. You might want to spare a few extra Euros for the amazing potato salad. Of course Schnitzel goes best with beer, also it's the traditional Viennese way to accompany the traditional dish. Reservation is required!
Tip: If you want to spend a little less, the Wiener Schnitzel made of pork is delicious as well and costs a few Euros less.

Brandauers
The perfect traditional Viennese restaurant to combine with your Schoenbrunn visit, either the Schoenbrunn Zoo or the Schoenbrunn castle. Brandauers is located a few meters from the east exit of Schoenbrunn and serves local dishes such as the Wiener Schnitzel and home brewed beer. The atmosphere in the restaurant's yard in the summer months is especially charming.

Rudis Beisl
One of Vienna's most traditional Beisl, which is a tiny and old restaurant, is known for its excellent kitchen. In the restaurant you will find pictures of former Austrian football pros and other Austrian celebrities who all stayed at Rudi's Beisl. Besides its famous Tafelspitz (slow cooked beef in soup with vegetables) – another Austrian delicacy – and many other local dishes, Rudis Beisl serves amazing Wiener Schnitzel. The restaurant is located in the 5th/ 4thdistrict of Vienna and might be challenging to reach if you're staying in the 1stdistrict. However, taxis, Uber as well as trams will take you there.
